Our Mission

The first 1000 days of child’s life are very crucial to ensure overall quality of life, it is also one of the most neglected periods in the regional context. Mariyam Foundation has been working towards bridging that developmental gap through assisting pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five years of age to avail various governmental and non-governmental health benefits.

To ensure quality education and hundred percent literacy rate, there are many programs initiated by Mariyam Foundation such as evening remedial classes, literary groups and ensuring all students of the project area are attending schools and have enough resources to sustain good education. Bridge courses are provided for drop-out children and for those from no prior educational background, to bring them to mainstream education.

Proper Water, Sanitation and Hygiene standards are safeguarded through community participation in activities such as celebration of Hand-wash day, spreading awareness and assisting in vaccination camps for waterborne diseases and working towards guaranteeing open defecation free villages. Advocacy with community & government is ensured to facilitate the availability of pure drinking water, advocating to pursue water waste management from Varanasi.
